LANGUAGE REVIEW - PARTS OF SPEECH

Copy the paragraph below and paste it as a new post.  Your language assignment is to read the paragraph and identify each part of speech.  Do this by color coding each word in the paragraph according to the chart below:

NOUNS - RED

PRONOUNS - ORANGE

VERBS - BLUE

ADJECTIVES - GREEN

ADVERBS - YELLOW
CONJUNCTIONS - PINK
PREPOSITIONS - PURPLE

The Sioux languages were not originally written languages, so there is no single, official spelling for any given Sioux word. Some Lakota and Dakota bands, tribes, and nations have different standardized orthographies (spelling systems) than others. Some Lakota and Dakota people prefer to use phonetic spelling. Others do not use a standardized orthography at all, but simply spell Sioux words as best they can using the English alphabet. Needless to say, this makes comparing different Sioux language websites rather difficult.

ALL ASSIGNMENTS ARE DUE FRIDAY - NO LATE POSTS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

Vocab Post - Challenge

OK - This post is kind of a challenge to you.  It is you opportunity to show me what type of skills you have, and how creative you can be.  You assignment is to pick one vocab word from this weeks unit and create a post on your own page titled, "Vocab Challenge."  This post can be anything you want it to be, but it should relate to one of  the vocab words and give clues the help figure out the meaning.  etc. Again, be as creative as you want, just make sure your post is school appropriate.  Good luck, do your best, and have fun.
